Jakarta, VIVA – President Prabowo Subianto held a bilateral meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Brazil.
The meeting marked an important moment to strengthen bilateral relations between Indonesia and France across various sectors.
The two leaders discussed a range of strategic issues that are priorities for both Indonesia and France. President Prabowo also expressed appreciation for the cooperation between the two nations, which he acknowledged has seen significant progress.
“We have a lot of cooperation with France, and there’s been much progress,” he said during a press briefing before departing for the United Kingdom to continue his series of official visits on Wednesday (November 20).

The bilateral meeting between Indonesia and France took place in a warm and productive atmosphere, reflecting the close and growing relationship between the two countries.
Accompanying President Prabowo in the meeting were Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
Minister Hartarto stated that the meeting also discussed the Indonesia-France Economic Forum.
“Yes, we discussed economic matters with France, as we have a bilateral economic forum between France and Indonesia. President Macron requested that this be continued,” the minister remarked.
Additionally, President Macron expressed appreciation for Indonesia’s plans regarding military equipment procurement, including the Rafale fighter jets and submarines.
