Jakarta, VIVA – The Chairman of the Indonesian General Elections Commission (KPU), Mochamad Afifuddin, detailed the stages of the 2024 simultaneous regional election vote recapitulation.
He explained that the process begins with vote counts from polling stations (TPS), which are then sent to the Voting Committee (PPS), and subsequently to the Subdistrict Election Committee (PPK).
"The subdistrict-level recapitulation by PPK will take place from November 28 to December 3, 2024," Afifuddin said during a press conference at the KPU Headquarters in Central Jakarta on Wednesday (Nov 27).
Following this, the vote recapitulation will proceed at the district level, scheduled from November 29 to December 6.

He elaborated that the final recapitulation of the 2024 regional elections will be conducted in stages. The post-election and vote-counting recapitulation results will be announced to the public on December 15, 2024.
"This phase includes the determination of election results at the district and city levels, and it is important to highlight that this process will be conducted transparently, with recapitulations at the district and city levels scheduled from November 29 to December 12," he explained.
Afifuddin added, "The provincial-level recapitulation is scheduled from November 30 to December 9, with the results to be publicly announced on December 15."
He stated that the 2024 simultaneous regional election has generally proceeded smoothly and expressed his gratitude to all parties involved in its success.
"Overall, the regional elections have been well-executed, and we extend our thanks to all officials, voters, participants, and everyone who contributed to the success of the 2024 elections," said Afifuddin.
Additionally, Afifuddin stated that the distribution of logistics for the 2024 regional elections was carried out efficiently, despite minor disruptions, including natural disasters.
"There were some issues, such as security disturbances and natural disasters in several districts, for example, in Central Mamberamo, where conflicts occurred in Kelila District and other areas," he stated.
"We also observed developments in other areas affected by flooding, for example in North Sumatra and other regions," Afifudin concluded.
