VIVA – The Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Anindya Bakrie, expressed support for President Prabowo Subianto’s directive during Gerakan Solidaritas Nasional (GSN). One of the key points was a call for entrepreneurs to allocate funds to assist students.
Anindya highlighted that many Indonesians are still facing economic difficulties. As a result, Prabowo urged his administration to cut back on events that require substantial budgets.
“Let’s avoid hosting grand declarations or large-scale events continuously. Instead, focus on concrete efforts that can genuinely help the people,” Anindya said at the Indonesia Arena, Senayan, Jakarta, on Saturday, November 2, 2024.

Anindya, fondly called Anin, shared an example of how this initiative could be implemented. Entrepreneurs could donate IDR 100,000 per month to provide school uniforms for students in need.
“Here’s an example: A complete school uniform set, including shoes and sports attire, costs around IDR 1.2 million per year. So, a contribution of IDR 100,000 per month can cover this,” he explained.
“If just one entrepreneur donates IDR 100,000 a month, it’s already a significant help. The impact grows as more entrepreneurs participate or contribute larger amounts,” he added.
Previously, Indonesia President, Prabowo Subianto, had called on entrepreneurs and volunteers within the GSN to contribute IDR 100,000 per month to support this cause. The collected funds would be used to provide school uniforms, shoes, socks, and sportswear for underprivileged children.
“Based on calculations, the total cost for a child’s school needs, including uniforms, shoes, socks, and sports attire, is IDR 1.2 million annually. So, if each of us can spare just IDR 1.2 million for a year—or IDR 100,000 per month—that’s enough to help one child,” Prabowo said during the event.

Prabowo even humorously encouraged, the Chairman of Golkar Party, Bahlil Lahadalia to involve members of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI) in the initiative. Bahlil, who served as a head of HIPMI from 2015 to 2019, was seen as a key figure to rally support.
“Imagine if each of us here, including many from HIPMI, contributes. Bahlil, you have a lot of connections in HIPMI. Let’s get a photo of all HIPMI members here as part of this effort,” Prabowo said.
