"Our current focus is on food and agriculture. Indonesia is very serious about partnering for food security and manufacturing, collaborating for mutual growth," Bakrie said on Saturday (Jan 25).

He mentioned that Kadin has already engaged in significant trade and investment activities.

To further these efforts, Bakrie stated that Kadin plans to collaborate with India in the areas of health and pharmaceuticals, clean energy, technology, and human resources.

"We're very serious about this, and we have industry leaders in Indonesia as well as expertise in AI, digital technology, and fintech,"  he remarked.

At the forum, Bakrie also highlighted two key areas; Firstly, he emphasized the importance of cooperation with India in the housing sector. This aligns with Indonesia's ongoing program to build 3 million houses.

"Mr. Hashim here is the committee chair for the housing sector in Indonesia. We are initiating a program to build 3 million affordable houses per year in Indonesia, and we require significant collaboration with India in this sector," he explained.

Secondly, Bakrie highlighted the significance of human resources (HR). He stated that the Indonesian government is focused on HR development, and India has a strong track record in this area.

"One thing we see is working very well in India, and there is sufficient infrastructure, is the development of human resources, and that is another area we want to focus on." he concluded.
