Jakarta, VIVA – As the 2025 Eid homecoming period, Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) is preparing optimal services for Whoosh passengers.
The KCIC Lebaran travel period will last for 22 days, from March 21 to April 11, 2025.
Eva Chairunisa, GM Corporate Secretary of KCIC, explained that the company will operate 62 regular trips per day, marking a 20% increase from last year's Lebaran travel period, which had only 52 trips per day.
With this increase in trips, the daily seating capacity has also grown to 37,262 seats, up from 31,252 seats per day last year.
Chairunisa stated that, in total, KCIC will provide 808,946 seats across 1,346 Whoosh trips during the 2025 Lebaran travel period.
"This capacity expansion is aimed at anticipating a surge in passenger numbers, particularly on peak travel dates, which are predicted to occur on April 5, or two days after Lebaran," Chairunisa said on Saturday (March 15).

KCIC has also anticipated an increase in passengers starting from March 21, 2025, coinciding with the start of school holidays and the government's implementation of the Work From Anywhere (WFA) policy.
Additionally, the Nyepi holiday on March 28 is also expected to gradually boost Whoosh passenger numbers.
The public is encouraged to plan their trips early and purchase tickets online for a smoother and more comfortable journey.
This recommendation is based on ticket-buying trends, where around 85% of passengers purchase their Whoosh tickets on the day of departure.
"We project that the number of Whoosh passengers during the Lebaran travel period will increase by up to 30%, reaching as many as 24,000 passengers per day," Chairunisa remarked.
She added, "For comparison, on regular weekdays, Whoosh serves around 16,000–18,000 passengers per day, while on weekends, the number can rise to 18,000–21,000 passengers per day."
To ensure the safety and security of Whoosh travel, KCIC has deployed a total of 530 security personnel across all stations and railway lines.
These personnel consist of KCIC's internal security team, as well as officers from the Indonesian National Armed Forces and the National Police.
Additionally, KCIC has assigned 688 service personnel, including Passenger Service Mobile officers, who are ready to assist passengers at various Whoosh stations.
In terms of supporting facilities, KCIC has conducted inspections to ensure everything is in good condition for passenger use.
"The prepared service facilities include children's play areas, waiting rooms, VIP lounges, special lanes for people with disabilities, nursing rooms, medical posts, security posts, parking areas, and other amenities that enhance passenger comfort during their journey," she concluded.
