Jakarta, VIVA – The Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Anindya Bakrie, affirmed Kadin Indonesia's strong support for the 3 Million Houses Program driven by the Prabowo-Gibran administration.

According to him, this initiative presents a golden opportunity for low-income communities to finally own a home.

The government has facilitated this program with various incentives and conveniences, ensuring that more low-income families can achieve homeownership.

"The incentives in the 3 Million Houses Program are extraordinary. VAT has been eliminated. What used to be called an IMB is now a PBG, and that has also been removed. Additionally, the 5% BPHTB tax has been scrapped as well," Bakrie said on Thursday (Feb 6).

"These are examples of how this program is highly innovative and truly offers great incentives," he remarked.

Bakrie also expressed his deep appreciation for the Minister of Housing and Residential Areas, Maruarar Sirait—commonly known as Ara—who has been pushing the program forward, despite budget cuts.

Although the ministry’s budget for 2025 has been reduced from the initial IDR 5.2 trillion to around IDR 1.6 trillion, Bakrie remains optimistic about achieving the target through collaboration.

"By working together, I believe we can achieve the goal," he said.

He acknowledged that the challenge is significant, given the ambitious target of building 3 million houses per year. However, he also emphasized that this is where Kadin’s role as the Chamber of Commerce and Industry is truly tested

The objective is to align the interests of the people, the state, and the housing industry—especially small and medium-sized developers—so that the program’s target can be effectively realized.

"That’s why Kadin must consider the broader public interest, think about the nation, and at the same time, foster industrialization so that businesses can grow. Not just big businesses, but also startups and mid-sized enterprises," Bakrie concluded.
