Jakarta, VIVA – Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, welcomed the visit of France's Minister of Culture, Rachida Dati discussed the follow-up of a strategic collaboration in the sub-sectors of film, video, animation, fashion, crafts, gaming, and design.
Minister Harsya stated that the cooperation between Indonesia and France aims to enhance collaboration within the creative industry ecosystem, improve the quality of human resources in the creative economy sector, and expand market access for both countries.
"This strategic partnership will also facilitate creative industry players from both nations to participate in major events held in France and Indonesia this year and in the years to come," he said in a statement on Thursday (May 29).

The bilateral meeting between the two ministries took place just four hours after the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which was witnessed directly by President Prabowo and French President Emmanuel Macron at the State Palace.
Meanwhile, French Minister of Culture, Rachida Dati, also expressed her delight over the meeting, which was held to follow up on the agreement previously signed.
"I’m very pleased that what we’ve agreed upon is being immediately followed up in this bilateral meeting. I hope this agreement will progress well and be realized through concrete actions by both countries in the near future," Minister Dati remarked.
She acknowledged that Indonesian achievements in the creative economy are currently outstanding, particularly due to the strong involvement of women.
"The creative economy is a sector that receives special attention because of its continuous growth year by year, and the statistics are very impressive from the perspective of France," she stated.
As information, Indonesia’s creative economy has shown significant growth over the past 11 years (2013–2024). Data from Statistics Indonesia (BPS) indicates an increase in GDP contribution by 119%, from around IDR 700 trillion to IDR 1,500 trillion. Meanwhile, export value rose by 67%, from US$15 billion to US$25.1 billion.
