Jakarta, VIVA – Bakrie Group, through its subsidiary PT Bakrie Sumatera Plantations, has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with state-owned lender PT Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI), to facilitate People's Business Credit (KUR) financing for plasma farmers and strategic partnership programs.
"This marks a concrete step in supporting productive financing within the national palm oil plantation sector," said BSP’s Director & Investor Relations, Andi W. Setianto, in an official statement on Friday (June 20).
The signing ceremony also featured an introduction to both companies' teams and a brief presentation on the KUR financing scheme for plasma farmers, as well as the partnership model being implemented.
Additional remarks were delivered by President Director of PT Bakrie Sumatera Plantations, Bayu Irianto, and Deputy President Director Vinayaka B.S., followed by BNI representatives Annisa Milana, Department Head of Enterprise Banking Division, and Sunarna Eka Nugraha, Division Head of BNI’s Business Program Division.

Then, Milana highlighted BNI’s optimism about the program's potential, estimating up to IDR 1 trillion in financing to support over 13,400 plasma farmers, covering a total partnership plantation area of 19,406 hectares.
“This program spans multiple operational areas of the Bakrie Group, including North Sumatra, Jambi, and West Sumatra,” she explained.
The strategic partnership involves the following five Bakrie Group entities:
• PT Bakrie Sumatera Plantations Tbk – Kisaran, North Sumatra
• PT Grahadura Leidongprima – Aek Kanopan, North Sumatra
• PT Agrowiyana – Tanjung Jabung Barat, Jambi
• PT Sumbertama Nusapertiwi – Muaro Jambi, Jambi
• PT Bakrie Pasaman Plantations – Pasaman, West Sumatra
This initiative goes beyond merely funding palm oil replanting through the KUR scheme. It also seeks to strengthen the partnership ecosystem between corporations and farmers.
The overarching goal is to enhance farmer welfare, boost plantation productivity, and promote long-term sustainability in Indonesia’s palm oil industry.
By bridging access to affordable financing and promoting shared growth, the collaboration between Bakrie Group and BNI sets a progressive model for empowering the palm oil sector, especially among smallholder farmers.
