Jakarta, VIVA – Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Anindya Novyan Bakrie, welcomed the State Delegation of Switzerland to Indonesia at the Kadin Tower in South Jakarta on Monday (June 2).

Bakrie said that the meeting with the Swiss Ambassador to Indonesia, Olivier Zehnder, was partly in preparation for an upcoming intergovernmental meeting scheduled for September–October 2025.

"A Swiss government leader will be visiting at the end of September or early October. So, as usual, we were preparing a business forum to complement the government-to-government relationship," he said.

On this occasion, Bakrie highlighted Switzerland’s success in innovation and vocational training.

"Innovation—because they have highly effective technologies, not only in mechanical fields as we know, but also in the era of sustainability," he stated.

The kadin chairman also mentioned Switzerland's strong hydropower technologies, as well as its vocational education system.

"What’s particularly interesting is their vocational studies, which could help in job creation—especially in the hospitality and tourism sectors, where they are very strong," Bakrie explained.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Zehnder stated it was an honor to collaborate with Kadin, particularly in strengthening cooperation between the private and public sectors.

"Because the private and public sectors can only thrive if they work together. In Indonesia, we have the honor of working closely not only with Swiss industries, but also with representatives of Indonesian industry," Bakrie remarked.

He added that the upcoming meeting in October is not just about the good relationship the two countries already enjoy, but also about their economic frameworks, including Free Trade and Investment Protection Agreements.

He also mentioned the dynamic partnership between the two nations that has been going on for over 50 years in the economic sector.

"And I think we all agree that we need to work together and build upon what we already have to enhance exchanges between the two countries," Zehnder said.
