Jakarta, VIVA – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has requested a reduction in the number of commissioners at State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN).
Additionally, President Prabowo has emphasized that those appointed as commissioners must come from professional backgrounds.
This was conveyed by the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, after meeting with President Prabowo at the Presidential Palace in Central Jakarta on Wednesday (March 26).
"I only want to comment on the management structure of state-owned banks. The President has directed that the number of commissioners be streamlined and filled with professionals," the minister said.

Minister Hartarto confirmed that the number of commissioners in these BUMN will be reduced from its previous, larger structure.
Meanwhile, the head of state stated that the number of commissioners will be adjusted according to the specific needs of each BUMN.
"It will be based on necessity. But compared to before, when it was bloated, it is now more streamlined," he remarked.
