Jakarta, VIVA – Anindya Bakrie has once again been appointed as the leader of the Indonesian Aquatics Federation (PB AI) after being unanimously elected during the National Congress (Munas) held in Jakarta on Saturday.
This marks his third term in office, with his tenure set for the 2025-2029 or for the next four years period.
In this election, Bakrie ran unopposed and secured full support from the provincial representatives present at the congress.
In his speech, Bakrie expressed gratitude to all those who placed their trust in him.
"First and foremost, I would like to thank the 'stakeholders'—the provincial representatives from 30 provinces who are here today. I have been given the opportunity to once again lead Indonesian Aquatics for the 2025-2029 term," Anindya Bakrie remarked.

The first vision is to elevate Indonesia’s performance on the international stage, with a primary focus on securing titles at the 2026 Youth Olympic Games.
Following that, preparations will be directed toward the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Qualifiers as part of the effort to produce world-class athletes.
The second vision is to popularize swimming across Indonesia. Bakrie believes that as an archipelagic nation, Indonesia has immense potential to develop exceptional swimmers.
Therefore, efforts will be intensified to make swimming a widely accessible and popular sport through various training and water sports introduction programs.
The third vision focuses on improving the welfare of athletes, coaches, referees, and other competition officials.
Bakrie emphasized that ensuring the well-being of sports professionals is key to fostering sustainable achievements.
Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of maintaining strong relationships with various stakeholders, including the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI), and the National Sports Committee of Indonesia (KONI).
According to him, a solid synergy with these institutions will provide stronger support for the advancement of aquatic sports in Indonesia.
"The relationship between Indonesian Aquatics, Kemenpora, NOC or KOI, and KONI is very strong. I hope this synergy will lead to even greater success, especially in an era that demands both competitiveness and efficiency," Bakrie stated.
Looking ahead, he is committed not only to improving achievements in swimming but also in other disciplines such as water polo, diving, artistic swimming, open water swimming, masters swimming, and high diving.
With ambitious targets and structured programs, he hopes that Indonesian Aquatics will achieve even greater success in the years to come.
