Jakarta, VIVA – The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), through its Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) division, has launched the inaugural edition of the Kadin ESDM Monthly Bulletin: Energy & Mineral Insight, in collaboration with Katadata. The partnership is built on two important pillars, such as strategy and intelligence.
Kadin Chairman, Anindya Novyan Bakrie explained that the bulletin plays a significant role in supplying and processing data in this strategic sector.
"This is where Mr. Metta (Metta Dharmasaputra, CEO of Katadata) and Katadata can play a big role. Because no matter how strategic something is, without data—or if the data is not processed intelligently with technology—we won’t achieve the results we want. I think this platform is excellent. Congratulations," Bakrie said in Jakarta on Tuesday (June 3).

Meanwhile, Kadin Deputy Chair for ESDM, Aryo Djojohadikusumo, emphasized that the first edition of the monthly bulletin focuses on electric vehicles (EVs), in line with the Prabowo-Gibran administration’s three priorities: food, water, and energy security.
Djojohadikusumo also stressed that the net-zero emission agenda will not eliminate the oil and gas industry.
“This is a God-given industry. Even if Indonesia reaches 100% EV adoption, oil and gas will still be needed. Air conditioners, cups—we still need petrochemical products. Oil and gas are still essential. Maybe the battery changes, but the car body and interior still come from oil derivatives,” he stated.
Then Bobby Gafur Umar, Kadin Vice Chairman Coordinator for ESDM, added that the bulletin will act as an industrial information hub and a business insight resource.
“We're a source of information. Business happens all around us, and without communicating that externally, something would be missing,” Umar stated.
