Under Bakrie’s leadership, Indonesia clinched three Olympic medals—two gold medals in weightlifting and sport climbing, and one bronze medal in badminton.
This achievement marked a historic milestone, as Indonesia won two gold medals outside of badminton, further elevating the country’s standing in international sports.
Then, Bakrie expressed his deep gratitude upon receiving the award, emphasizing that it was not just for him but for the entire Chef de Mission team who played a crucial role in Indonesia’s Olympic journey.
"First and foremost, I want to sincerely thank the Indonesian Olympic Committee (NOC Indonesia), especially its president, Mr. Raja Sapta Oktohari, my dear friend, for this honor. This award is not just for me but for the entire Chef de Mission team, who made the Paris Olympics a historic moment by securing two Olympic gold medals outside of badminton," Bakrie stated.
Bakrie also highlighted that Indonesia’s success at the Paris 2024 Olympics was made possible thanks to the support from various stakeholders, including NOC Indonesia, KONI (National Sports Committee of Indonesia), and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
"I feel truly happy and grateful to all the athletes, coaches, and officials who dedicated their efforts. This achievement would not have been possible without the support of NOC Indonesia, KONI, and the Ministry of Youth and Sports," he added.
He further emphasized that the two gold medals and one bronze were the result of a collective effort, reinforcing the spirit of teamwork that brought glory to Indonesia on the global stage.
"This is a victory for all of us, and I am deeply grateful. Every time I reflect on this journey, I feel a strong longing to return to the Olympic stage once again," he concluded.
