Jakarta, VIVA – Indonesian equestrian athletes Brayen Brata-Coolen and Arserl Rizki Brayudha participated in the prestigious Jumping International de Canteleu (CSI Canteleu) in France on Friday (March 7), local time.

This participation is part of the Indonesian Equestrian Sports Association (PP PORDASI)'s commitment to preparing Indonesian equestrian athletes for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

Indonesia's involvement also marks the realization of PORDASI’s collaboration with the French Equestrian Federation, which was previously discussed with the French Ambassador to Indonesia, Fabien Penone, on December 13, 2024.

Brayen competed in the CSI2 135cm category, riding a horse named Hamburg, finishing in 29th place. Meanwhile, with his other horse, Castello H, he placed 58th out of 60 participants.

On the other hand, Arserl competed in the CSI1 120cm category with his horse Chillbird Julie, securing an impressive 6th place out of 38 participants.

PP PORDASI Chairman Aryo Djojohadikusumo emphasized that the results achieved by these two Indonesian representatives were already quite commendable.

According to him, the most important aspect is the participation of Indonesian equestrian athletes in prestigious global competitions like CSI Canteleu, as it serves as a gateway to developing equestrian sports in Indonesia.

Djojohadikusumo is ambitious about bringing Indonesian equestrian athletes to compete in the next Summer Olympics.

"International competitions are the best platform to hone our athletes' skills and assess how prepared we are to compete on a global level. This is a strategic step towards the 2028 Olympics," he said in a statement.

PP PORDASI has demonstrated serious dedication to elevating the level of Indonesian equestrian athletes through various programs and support.

Djojohadikusumo explained that PORDASI is not only focused on training but also on ensuring that athletes gain experience competing in international events to strengthen their mental resilience for higher-level championships.

Meanwhile, PP PORDASI Executive Chairman Mohammad Chaidir Saddak added that Brayen and Arserl’s participation in this event resulted from an intensive training program and various national competitions designed by the federation.

PORDASI continuously strives to enhance the quality of its athletes through world-class training and participation in prestigious competitions, as part of its commitment to elevating Indonesian equestrian sports to a higher level.

According to Saddak, PORDASI will continue collaborating with international partners to bring more equestrian competitions to Indonesia.

"We want to create an equestrian sports ecosystem that supports athletes' growth and enables them to compete on a global scale," he stated.

As information, CSI Canteleu is one of the largest equestrian competitions in France, organized by Équi-Normandie and owned and managed by the GrandJacques family.

The competition traces its origins back to 1989, when Véronique and François Grandjacques transformed an old dairy farm into the renowned equestrian center, Haras du Loup.
