Jakarta, VIVA – The Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Anindya Bakrie, highlighted the massive potential of government spending on goods and services procurement, which could reach up to IDR 1,200 trillion.

He made this statement during his opening remarks at the Grand Launching of the Indonesia Catalogue Expo & Forum (ICEF) 2025, scheduled to take place from July 30 to August 1, organized by the National Public Procurement Agency (LKPP).

“LKPP oversees a procurement value of up to IDR 1,200 trillion and that’s a truly significant amount,” Bakrie said on Friday (Apr 25).

Given the scale of this government procurement spending, Bakrie encourage local businesses to take advantage of the opportunity to offer their best products and services so they can be absorbed into government procurement programs.

“For Kadin, as the umbrella for the business world and a strategic partner of the government, this is a highly strategic and relevant moment. With this initiative, we can help empower local businesses at both the national and regional levels,” he added.

Bakrie noted that this is his fourth time attending the annual ICEF event, which he says continues to improve each year.

“It’s important to note that LKPP is a world-class innovation. The scale and magnitude are not just big for Indonesia, but also significant on a global level,” he said.

At the same event, LKPP Head Hendrar Prihadi expressed his appreciation to Kadin Indonesia and the Indonesian Association of Procurement Experts (IAPI) for their collaboration with LKPP in organizing ICEF 2025.

Prihadi hopes that ICEF 2025 will serve as a valuable platform in the form of an exhibition, allowing businesses to showcase their products and services that are frequently needed by the government.

“This is a golden opportunity, especially for local industries, because it allows high-quality local products to gain visibility with a clear market. Government spending has averaged IDR 1,200 trillion annually,” he stated.

Regarding the goals of ICEF 2025, Prihadi said that he hopes to see a procurement process that increasingly prioritizes high-quality, competitive, domestically produced goods.

“Our target is for all regional governments, ministries, and agencies to realize just how many local products are ready to be purchased and how these can benefit communities across the country,” he concluded.
