France, VIVA – The funeral mass for Pope Francis was held at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, France, on Friday evening local time.
As quoted from BFMTV, a large congregation attended the mass for the leader of the Catholic Church. The mass was also attended by French Prime Minister François Bayrou, Minister of Labor and Health Catherine Vautrin, and Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo.
In Vatican City on Friday, around 250,000 people visited St. Peter’s Basilica to pay their final respects during the three days of mourning for Pope Francis.

The official funeral ceremony is scheduled for Saturday at 8:00 a.m. local time. It will be led by the Dean of the College of Cardinals, Giovanni Battista Re.
The procession carrying Pope Francis' body will move slowly through the streets of Rome, allowing citizens to bid their final farewell.
Francis, the first Latin American pope, passed away on April 21, 2025, at his residence in the Vatican at 88.
