Jakarta, VIVA – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, openly admitted that communication from his administration has not been optimal.
He believes that the public still needs better access to government information, and as the head of state, he takes full responsibility for this shortcoming.
This statement was made by President Prabowo during an economic symposium titled “Strengthening Indonesia's Economic Resilience Amid the Wave of Trade Tariffs”, which was attended by various key figures, including economists, investors, and national media leaders.

The head of state emphasized that the forum was held at his own request.
He felt it was necessary to provide a clearer explanation to the public regarding Indonesia's economic condition, especially in facing ever-changing global challenges.
“I requested this event because I believe that after six months in office—since receiving the mandate from the people on October 20, 2024—it's time to be more communicative and proactive in explaining the current situation,” the president said on Tuesday (Apr 8).
President Prabowo did not hesitate to acknowledge the shortcomings in the government’s communication efforts, which he realized a few weeks ago.
He expressed a strong sense of responsibility for this matter.
“I realized a few weeks ago that the communication from my administration has been somewhat lacking. And that is my responsibility,” he stated.
Furthermore, he explained that he adheres to the principle of evidence-based performance.
He prefers to demonstrate results rather than make statements without solid proof.
“I’m not the type to speak without clear evidence. That’s just my nature. I want to be judged by my actions and achievements. I believe the people will also evaluate me based on results,” he added.
To make his administration more communicative, President Prabowo revealed that he has created a national transformation strategy book, which clearly outlines the foundational principles of his government.
He aims to show his commitment to improving public communication and ensuring that government policies are well understood by the general public.
“We're very open, we are very transparent. We have published the national transformation strategy book and distributed it. It clearly outlines the core principles of the government I lead,” he affirmed.
