Jakarta, VIVA – Indonesian volleyball player Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi has officially ended her journey with the Jeong Kwan Jang Red Sparks team.
Megawati and Red Sparks parted ways on Thursday (Apr 10), following her final match in the South Korean Volleyball League final earlier this week.
Her decision to leave the team was made to return home and care for her ailing mother.

Red Sparks announced the heartfelt departure on their official social media accounts.
“She showcased brilliant performances throughout the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 seasons. She was one of the most passionate and outstanding players on the court. She was always our go-to problem solver. A constant source of energy and joy for her fans. Thank you for being part of Jeonggwanjang Red Sparks,” read the post’s caption.
Megawati played a crucial role in the team’s success, contributing nearly 2,000 points over two seasons in the Korean league.
With Megawati’s presence, Red Sparks returned to the playoffs in the 2023/2024 season and reached the finals again in 2024/2025.
