Jakarta, VIVA – The number of traffic accidents during the 2025 Eid homecoming and return flow has decreased by 30 percent.
In the 2024 “Ketupat Operation”, there were 3,728 accidents. This year in 2025, the number dropped to 2,637.

The decline in accident numbers is also in line with the decrease in fatalities. The number of deaths due to accidents dropped by 47 percent.
“We can report that traffic accidents resulting in fatalities have decreased by 47 percent. That’s on a national level, across Indonesia during the Ketupat Operation period,” he explained.
Furthermore, toll road accidents also saw a decline. Last year, there were 53 incidents with 44 fatalities. In 2025, it dropped to 32 accidents with 12 fatalities.
"Ketupat operation is a humanitarian operation. The Chief of Police has ordered us to serve sincerely during this operation. There’s one more day left—we hope it continues to run smoothly. This achievement is because of everyone’s contributions, from all stakeholders to the travelers during the homecoming and return flows," the inspector remarked.
He added, "Traffic discipline has improved because traffic behavior reflects the culture of our nation."
