Jakarta, VIVA – The Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta held a vibrant Easter celebration on Friday, May 2, at the Jakarta International Velodrome in East Jakarta. Themed “Peace and Prosperity Amid Families,” the event aimed to foster unity and compassion across the capital’s diverse communities.
Approximately 4,000 participants, including civil servants, employees of state-owned enterprises, members of the Regional House of Representatives, and students from various Jakarta schools, attended the event. The sub-theme, “Peace and Prosperity for Jakarta,” underscored the call for harmony in both personal and public spheres.
Marulina Dewi, Head of Cooperation for the DKI Jakarta Government and Chair of the 2025 Easter Committee, emphasized the importance of embodying Easter’s values in daily life. “This theme encourages civil servants, employees, and the wider community to live with love, forgiveness, and mutual respect, impacting families, workplaces, and the city of Jakarta,” she told reporters at the venue.
The celebration highlighted Jakarta’s commitment to inclusivity, with the government extending support to interfaith communities and people with disabilities. Aid was distributed to organizations such as PSAA Dorkas, Yayasan Pondok Kasih Agape, Yayasan Kasih Anugerah, Panti Asuhan Anni’mah, and disability groups like HDWI, Gerkatin, Pertuni, and PPDI.
Deputy Governor Rano Karno, who attended the event, praised the spirit of tolerance displayed. “This celebration reminds us to embed compassion and care in our duties, strengthening our dedication to serving Jakarta’s diverse society,” he stated.
Marulina added, “We hope the values of Easter inspire public servants to contribute to a dynamic, inclusive global city.” The event reflects Jakarta’s ongoing efforts to promote social harmony in its multicultural capital, uniting communities through shared values of love and respect.
