Jakarta, VIVA – Indonesian President, Prabowo Subianto, attended the 2025 Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF) in Antalya, Turkiye.
During the forum, Presiden Prabowo addressed the current global situation.
He began by expressing his views on the global geopolitical landscape, which he said is increasingly drifting away from the principles of justice and a rules-based order.
Nevertheless, the President emphasized that diplomacy remains the best path that must continue to be pursued.

“We cannot give up on diplomacy,” said Prabowo at the forum on Friday (Apr 11).
Quoting ancient Greek philosopher and historian Thucydides, President Prabowo highlighted the harsh reality that power often dictates truth in today’s international relations.
“The strong do what they can, and the weak suffer what they must,” he stated.
According to him, the world is witnessing a decline in values established after World War II by Western powers—such as democracy and human rights.
These are values adopted by many developing countries, yet the President noted a troubling silence when violations occur before the world’s eyes.
“We believe in democracy. We believe in human rights. We believe in a rules-based order,” the head of state said.
He added: “But now, suddenly, we are seeing, right before our eyes—what President Erdogan has mentioned—innocent children, innocent women, unarmed men being slaughtered in full view of the world,” he continued.
While stressing the importance of diplomacy, President Prabowo acknowledged that the current global reality forces countries to boost their own preparedness.
He also stated that today’s global uncertainty will impact many areas, including poverty and hunger.
“This means that now every country must prepare for the worst. It will consume resources that should be used to alleviate poverty and hunger,” president Prabowo explained.
“If you ask me, I say we must pursue diplomacy. But now, many countries are reassessing and preparing for the worst,” he added.
